On fan unrest

“Honestly, I am professional and when you are professional you perform in ideal conditions and non ideal conditions.
“I love to win football games. I just focus on that. I work for my club with honesty and integrity. I am not scared. I accept the judgement of people and focus on the game. That’s it.”

On the future

“The board is responsible for the decisions which engage the future.
“What is important is a good football team on the pitch playing good football. The rest is just literature. What is important is playing with the right spirit, the right attitude.”

On the race for the top four

“For 20 years I have done it and it looked nothing. Now people realise it is not as easy as it looked.
“Guardiola said to achieve top four is a trophy.”

On the rest of the season

“We have many games in April, we need everybody on board. We need the support of our fans in games. We play as well in the semi-final of the FA Cup, it’s all to go for. It’s a good opportunity to show we are united.”

On Sanchez's future

“He has one and a half years contract. I don’t understand that debate. Our job is to perform as long as we are here. I do not understand this kind of anxiety. It is absolutely denying what a professional guy is about.”

Do you have a message to the protesting fans?

“Everybody has an opinion today. What is important is guys who can influence the results stick together.”

On Koscielny's fitness

“It could be a few weeks, or he could be available against Crystal Palace. He has a scan today. I can tell you much more tomorrow.”

On Mertesacker and Cech

“Per Mertesacker is available to play. He could be in the squad for tomorrow.
“Cech is not available tomorrow. Maybe Monday.”

Do you set yourself targets?

“No. I tell myself to finish as high as possible.
“We are fighting to have a positive end of season. That’s why you want the fans to stand behind the team. Let’s finish as strong as we can. Let’s show our mental resilience.”

On West Ham 

“They have struggled at home, moving into the new stadium. They lost Payet as well. The Premier League is difficult but they have quality players.”
