Golden Globes 2017: Full list of winners

The full TV winner list of the 2017 Golden Globe Awards has been revealed. Before the Sunday night, January 8 ceremony wrapped up, Donald Glover once again took the stage to accept a trophy for Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical or Comedy Series for his role on "Atlanta". He beat out Jeffrey Tambor ("Transparent") and Anthony Anderson ("Black-ish") among others for the title.

Earlier that evening, he accepted an award for Best Musical or Comedy Series for the FX show. "I really wanted to thank Atlanta and all the black folks in Atlanta," said the actor who also created the series. "I only cared about what people in Atlanta thought. You can't name a show Detroit and then have Detroit people hate it. I was only caring if my parents thought it was cool, if I could go to a Chick-Fil-A and see that people knew the new Donald Glover show."

"The Crown" was another big winner at the ceremony. The Netflix show was named Best Drama Series, edging out critically acclaimed and popular shows like "Game of Thrones", "Stranger Things", "This Is Us" and "Westworld". Its star Claire Foy also surprisingly defeated Caitriona Balfe ("Outlander"), Keri Russell ("The Americans"), Winona Ryder ("Stranger Things") and Evan Rachel Wood ("Westworld") for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series Award.

Leading the TV winner list in terms of number is "The Night Manager" with three gongs. The AMC series bagged acting nods for its stars Tom Hiddleston (Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television), Olivia Colman (Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television) and Hugh Laurie (Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television).

"The Night Manager", however, lost the Best Limited Series title to "The People vs O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story". The first installment of the true crime anthology series also helped Sarah Paulson win best actress trophy in limited series or TV movie category.

Other winners in TV field included Billy Bob Thornton (Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series for "Goliath") and Tracee Ellis Ross (Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical or Comedy Series for "Black-ish").

Hollywood vet Meryl Streep was honored with the prestigious Cecil B. Demille Award. The HFPA also presented awards for the best in movie at the Jimmy Fallon-hosted ceremony, with musical drama "La La Land" dominating the winner list.
