Pellegrini Mind Game: Title race not over

Pellegrini Mind Game: Title race not over

Manuel Pellegrini warned Manchester City the Premier League is not finished yet after they moved to the summit with victory over Everton.
A thrilling match finished 3-2 in City's favour, taking them ahead of Liverpool on goal difference ahead of the Reds' clash with Crystal Palace on Monday. Third-placed Chelsea, two points behind, play Norwich on Sunday and will also have the chance to move ahead.
Both teams will have played a game more than City but Pellegrini told Sky Sports 1: "The worst thing we must do is think that today we finished the Premier League.
"We have to play teams (Aston Villa and West Ham) who are not fighting for anything, they can play without pressure. We must try to win our last two games at home, then we will see what happens.''
Sergio Aguero's goal and two from Edin Dzeko settled the game at Goodison, with Everton having opened the scoring through Ross Barkley and later pulling one back through Romelu Lukaku.
Pellegrini said: "We won and at this moment the most important thing is to win. Today the pressure was maybe too high to play our best football. We played well until 3-2, maybe at that moment the team was a bit nervous.
"We started one goal down and we played good football to recover from that goal. We managed the game, we scored three and had chances.''
Aguero left the field with an injury but Pellegrini would not be drawn on the severity of the problem, saying simply: "We'll see tomorrow.''
Captain Vincent Kompany also urged caution ahead of the finale to the season.
"Ultimately it's two games at home but it doesn't mean anything,'' he said. "You saw the Sunderland game and how tough it was. Hopefully we'll just play like we can, we have a strong home record and we have goals from everywhere on the pitch.''

First Defeat as United Manager: 'Players were flat'- Giggs

First Defeat as United Manager: 'Players were flat'- Giggs
Ryan Giggs admitted he was at a loss to explain why Manchester United produced such a "flat" performance as Sunderland won at Old Trafford for the first time since 1968.
United slumped to a first defeat of interim manager Giggs' spell in caretaker charge after Sebastian Larsson scored a 30th minute winner that took the Black Cats to the brink of securing safety.
Giggs, who had beaten Norwich 4-0 in his first game in charge, was bemused by United's poor display against Sunderland.
"I still believe there is quality in the dressing room," he said in a news conference. "We showed that last week but just didn't this. The players were flat and I don't know why."
"In the first half we got some decent crosses in, and just didn't get enough people in the box. In the second half we had all the possession and just couldn't find that key pass or bit of quality to get us back in the game. I am sure if we scored one we would have gone on to score more."
It was United's seventh home league defeat of the season, a fate they had not suffered since 1973-74, when they were relegated, and Giggs could not account for their struggles at Old Trafford.
"We have shown good form away from home but at Old Trafford it seems to have been a problem," he added. "In past seasons, there would be waves and waves of shots and saves and you could always sense a goal was coming but this season it doesn't seem to have happened."
Sunderland have taken 10 points from their last four games, including a draw away at Manchester City and wins at Chelsea and United and manager Gus Poyet hailed them for a "unique" achievement after he claimed they had needed a miracle.
"What we have done in the last four games is unique, incredible," he said. "A miracle was the word I used a few weeks ago and apparently every now and again it happens."
Given their goal difference, Sunderland, who still have home games against West Brom and Swansea, could be safe on Sunday, should Norwich lose to Chelsea.
"Now it will be a shame if we don't stay up," Poyet added. "It would be crazy to lose this opportunity."

Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake's 'Love Never Felt So Good' Land Online

A new Michael Jackson song from his upcoming posthumous album "Xscape" has landed online. Titled "Love Never Felt So Good", the track came in two versions with one being sung entirely by the late King of Pop and one featuring guest vocals from Justin Timberlake.
The new song is a disco-themed catchy pop jam that Jackson co-wrote with Paul Anka in 1983. It features the singer crooning, "Baby, love never felt so good / and I'd die if it ever could / Not like you hold me, hold me."
Timberlake then joins the late superstar to give some modern touch to the song's duet version.
"Love Never Felt So Good" was debuted for the first time at the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday, May 1 with the help from Usher.
"Xscape" is due out on May 13 via Epic Records. In addition to Timberlake, the record will see guest appearances from Mary J. Blige, Questlove and D'Angelo. Timbaland co-produced the album with Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome "Jroc" Harmon, and John McClain.

US embassy in Nigeria warns of possible terror attack on Sheraton Hotel in Lagos

The United States Embassy in Nigeria yesterday Friday May 2nd issued a warning to U.S citizens, asking them to avoid Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states, and also said 'groups associated with terrorism' are planning an attack on Sheraton Hotel in Lagos.

The warning was posted on their website here. Continue to read the full statement...

The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of travel to Nigeria and recommends that U.S. citizens avoid all travel to Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states because of the May 14, 2013 state of emergency proclamation for those three states by the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. As of late April, groups associated with terrorism allegedly planned to
mount an unspecified attack against the Sheraton Hotel in Nigeria, near the city of Lagos. There was no further information regarding which of the two Sheraton Hotels in Lagos was the possible target, or if both of the Sheraton Hotels are possible targets. There is no further information regarding the timing or method of attack. U.S. citizens are cautioned to avoid these hotels at this time.
The security situation in the country remains fluid and unpredictable. The U.S. Department of State strongly urges U.S. citizens in Nigeria to keep personal safety and health in the forefront of your planning. We remind U.S. citizens to review your personal security plans; remain aware of your surroundings, including local events; and monitor local news stations for updates. Maintain a high level of vigilance and take appropriate steps to enhance your personal security.
The Department strongly advises U.S. citizens who travel to or reside in Nigeria to enroll in the State Department's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). U.S. citizens without internet access may enroll directly with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. STEP enrollment gives you the latest security updates, and makes it easier for the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate to contact you in an emergency
