Effective Tips To Kill Depression

Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed.

Being lonely is a normal part of our everyday lives.  We get sad when we fail in our exams, when we're rejected by the person we love, or when someone very close to us passes away.  Depression, however, could be more fatal than just plain loneliness.  It could render life-long consequences that could ruin your self-esteem, health, and well-being.

Here are some superb tips to conquer the melancholy mood and get the most bliss out of your daily activities.

Get Enough Light and Sunshine

Lack of exposure to sunlight is responsible for the secretion of the hormone melatonin, which could trigger a dispirited mood and a lethargic condition.

Melatonin is only produced in the dark.  It lowers the body temperature and makes you feel sluggish.  If you are always cooped up in your room (with the curtains closed), it would be difficult to restrain yourself from staying in bed.

This is the reason why many people are suffering from depression much more often in winter than in the other seasons.  It's because the nights are longer.

If you can't afford to get some sunshine, you can always lighten up your room with brighter lights. Have lunch outside the office.  Take frequent walks instead of driving your car over short distances.

  Get Busy

You'll be more likely to overcome any feeling of depression if you are too busy to notice it.  Live a life full of inspired activities.

Do the things you love.  If you're a little short on cash, you could engage in simple stuffs like taking a leisurely stroll in the park, playing sports, reading books, or engaging in any activity that you have passion for and would love to pursue.

Set a goal - a meaningful purpose in life.  No matter how difficult or discouraging life can be,
remain firm and have an unshakable belief that you are capable of doing anything you desire.  With this kind of positive attitude, you will attain a cheerful disposition to beat the blues.

Take a Break

I mean it.

Listen to soothing music.  Soak in a nice warm bath.  Ask one of your close friends to massage
you.  Take a break from your stressful workload and spend the day just goofing around.  In other words, have fun.

Eat Right and Stay Fit

Avoid foods with lots of sugar, caffeine, or alcohol.  Sugar and caffeine may give you a brief moment of energy; but they would later bring about anxiety , tension, and internal problems.  Alcohol is a depressant.  Many people would drink alcohol to "forget their problems." They're just aggravating their conditions in the process.

Exercising regularly is a vital depression buster because it allows your body to produce more  endorphins than usual.  Endorphins are sometimes called "the happy chemicals" because of their stress-reducing and happiness-inducing properties.

Get a Social Life.

No man is an island. Your circle of friends are there to give you moral support. Spending time and engaging in worthwhile activities with them could give you a very satisfying feeling.  Nothing feels better than having group support.

Never underestimate the power of touch.  Doesn't it feel so good when someone pats you on the back and gives you words of encouragement during your most challenging times?  Hug or embrace someone today.  You'll never know when you have saved another life.

Get intimate.  Establish close ties with your family and friends.  The love and care expressed by others could tremendously boost your immune system and fend off illnesses.  Best of all, you'll live a more secured and happy life.

Footage has emerged of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kathryn Mayorga dancing in the nightlcub hours before alleged attack

A video of Cristiano Ronaldo and rape accuser Kathryn Mayorga dancing in a nightclub has surfaced hours before he's alleged to have attacked her in a hotel next door.
The Juventus superstar is spotted on mobile phone footage with the American in the Rain nightclub at the Palms Hotel and Casino.
The recording in 2009 on the night of the alleged rape took place before Ms Mayorga claims the Portuguese footballer attacked her in his penthouse suite.
Ms Mayorga then worked as an in-house nightclub dancer and is filmed dancing and sharing jokes with the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star.
However, Ms Mayorga - who is now a teacher - claims Ronaldo later attacked her in the penthouse suite of the Palms Casino Resort before allegedly apologising and saying he is 'usually a gentleman'.
Former Manchester United player Ronaldo, 33, denies any wrongdoing.
Ms Mayorga is suing Ronaldo to overturn a non-disclosure agreement she signed after the alleged incident.
She described the accusation as rape in her interview with Der Spiegel, though the legal papers have labelled the allegation as sexual assault claims.
The Portuguese star issued a statement on social media on Wednesday to 'clear his name' and deny the accusation of rape.
"I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me. Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in," Ronaldo said.
"Keen as I may be to clear my name, I refuse to feed the media spectacle created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense.
"My clear conscious will thereby allow me to await with tranquillity the results of any and all investigations."
Mayorga, 34, alleges the footballer then dispatched a team of "fixers" to obstruct the criminal investigation and trick her into keeping quiet for $375,00 (£268,000).
The lawsuit says Ms Mayorga asked police last month to reopen the criminal case.
Las Vegas police confirmed on Monday that they have reopened a sexual assault case from 2009 .

Melania Trump's Secret Service agent panics after she is nearly knocked over by a baby elephant

First Lady Melania Trump is currently on her first international trip without her husband Donald.
But being the wife of the President of the United States comes with its risks and she is required to travel with protection in the form of Secret Service agents.
However, it seems some of them are a bit too protective of the 48-year-old former model.
Melania was visiting the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Kenya, today when a Secret Service agent - wearing those trademark sunglasses - suddenly rushed forward to grab the First Lady.
Photographs show him looking pretty panic-stricken, while Melania remains fairly calm and takes a slight step backwards.

Who was this attacker? An adorable baby elephant.
Although the photos might suggest Melania was in danger at the elephant orphanage, she was reportedly smiling more than ever.
CNN White House reporter Kate Bennett, who witnessed the 'attack', tweeted: "I have covered [ Melania Trump ] for almost two years and have never seen her smile and laugh more than she is now with these baby elephants."

Melania also took a tour of the site of an ivory burn - mounds of ivory ash set up to discourage poachers - and saw impala, zebras and giraffes along the way.
