Young girl made goddess in Nepal because she has eyelashes like a cow and a voice as clear as a duck

Now the youngster’s parents have had to leave their jobs because under Hindu tradition she is not allowed to leave her home except for special occasions – and her feet can’t touch the floor.
Nepalese prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal even had to bow before the ‘Kumari’ girl, who is called Yunika, as he paid respect to her along with thousands of others at the religion’s annual festival of rain.
The child is thought to bring good luck to those who look at her after being declared by royal priests and officials as a living incarnation of the goddess Durga in an ancient Hindu custom.
But when Yunika hits puberty, she will revert back to being a normal member of society.
Her dad Ramesh Bajracharya said: “When my daughter was selected as a Kumari, I felt very happy.
“It's because Kumari is hugely regarded and respected living goddess in Nepal.”
The criteria is extreme – with children needing “eyelashes like a cow”, “thighs like a deer” and a “voice as clear as a duck”.
Her astrological chart also has to be favourable to the King of Nepal’s and youngsters are also tested on fearlessness and serenity.
Yunika’s mum Sabita has to apply intricate make-up patterns on her face that mark her out as a goddess – but she admits to feeling sad that her daughter can’t enjoy a normal life.
She said: “Her friends do come to play with her inside. Whatever she demands, dolls or any plaything, we fulfill her demands."

WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: Villagers in the Indonesian province who dig up bodies of dead relatives and give them complete makeover in bizarre ceremony

These fascinating pictures show an annual ritual where villagers dig up the bodies of their dead relatives before washing, grooming and dressing them up in fancy new clothes.
Families in the Indonesian province of Toraja in South Sulawesi perform the act to keep their relatives alive in their hearts and minds.
As part of the zombie ceremony, even the skeletons of children are exhumed.
Damaged coffins are fixed or replaced before the mummies are walked around the area by following a path of straight lines during the ritual, called Ma'nene, or The Ceremony of Cleaning Corpses.
For Torajans, the death of the body isn’t seen as an abrupt event and attempts are made to keep them part of the family.
Late loved ones are tended at home for weeks, months, or even years after death and funerals are often delayed to gather relatives.
In Toraja society, the funeral ritual is also most elaborate and expensive event.
According to their ancient belief system, the spirit of a dead person must return to his village of origin.
So if a person died on a journey, the dead person would be walked back home from the scene to the village.

Transgender woman has cut off her ears to look like a reptile

A pre-operative transgender woman has cut off her ears, shaved her nose and had scales tattooed all over her body in a bid to look like a rattlesnake.
Dragon Lady Eva Tiamat Baphoment Medusa - who likes to referred to as it, like a snake would be - has spent the last 20 years attempting to look more like a reptile.
It believes that it was brought up by Western Diamondback rattlesnakes after it was abandoned by its parents as a young boy.
Tiamat has had several dramatic body modifications over the years, including having its ears cut off, a shaved nose, horn implants, eyebrow dome implants, a forked tongue, fangs and dyed the whites of its eyes green.
It also wants to be covered from head to toe in tattooed scales and body piercings - including in the armpit.
Tiamat did not use a doctor for the cosmetic surgery and instead turned to a body modification artist. She has spent around $60,000 so far (£45k).
The Dragon Lady told Fox 10 : "I was born to my human mother in the Phoenix area, but I was born to my reptilian parents when my mother and stepfather abandoned me to the woods.
"My whole transformation today is basically an honor to my reptilian parents which are the rattlesnakes.. the Western Diamondback in particular."
Tiamat was born Richard Hernandez in Maricopa County in Arizona and has taken on several different personas before eventually settling on the Dragon Lady look.
On its website, Tiamat explains: "I am the Dragon Lady, A pre-op M2F (male to female) transgender in the process of morphing into a human dragon, becoming a reptoid as I shed my human skin and my physical appearance and my life as a whole leaving my humanness behind.
"I don't care what people say about me or my views, and if I have to I will defy and stand alone against the world, but never will I make any compromise to my integrity."
Tiamat says the reaction to its unique look is often positive.
"People love me.. I go out and I am greeted with smiles.
"One lady fell out of her chair at a restaurant when she saw me and hit the floor."
The Dragon Lady lives in Edna, Texas and says she makes candyfloss for the local children so they are not scared of her.
Tiamat now wants to raise awareness of HIV after being diagnosed with it - along with other health problems.
"I want to raise awareness and erase the stigma. There is so much stigma out there about being HIV positive.
"I think humans need to be nicer to one another and really just accept each other for what they are."
Tiamat did not use a doctor for the body modifications and instead turned to a body modification artist. She has spent around $60,000 so far (£45k).

Expecting a Female-red-card: Couple with 13 sons and won't stop trying until they have a daughter

A couple who have been trying for a baby girl for almost 20 years has vowed to continue having children until they succeed - despite the fact that they now have 13 SONS.
Irineu Cruz and his wife Jucicleide Silva have a brood ranging from one month to 18-years-old - but the couple say they won't stop trying until a girl arrives.
During the first pregnancy , they agreed Dad would name the boys and Mum, the girls.
Now, footie-mad Irineu has since christened all 13 boys after famous footballers - all beginning with the letter R.
The family, who live in Concei ao de Coit , Brazil, hoped their thirteenth child would be a game-changer but instead the midwife announced it was yet another boy.
Farmer Irineu, 40, said: "When Jucicleide first got pregnant we agreed she could choose the girls' names and I would choose the names if they were boys.
"I've always admired players like Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho and Robinho.
"All the best footballers seemed to have a name beginning with R, so as more and more boys came along, I decided to celebrate South American football by naming my sons after the players I liked."
The family's newest addition has been christened Ronaldo after the former Brazil star.
Little Ronaldo joins brothers Robson (18), Reinan (17), Rauan (15), Rubens (14), Rivaldo (13), Ruan (12), Ramon (10), Rincon (9), Riquelme (7), Ramires (5), Railson (3) and Rafael (2).
According to population experts, the odds of having 13 boys in a row is one in 8,000 making them a record-breaking family.
He added: "It would be amazing if one of our boys ended up playing for Brazil.
"They are all good footballers particularly Robson and Rauan who are our star strikers.
"The exception is Reinan who prefers chasing girls."
Every weekend Irineu referees a game between his sons and the village football team.
He said: "We don't have any medals. When we win, we get a goat or a box of drink and some food for the children."
Full-time mum Jucicleide said: "Every lunch time I cook a kilo of rice, a kilo of beans and an extra-large packet of macaroni.
"Of course there are times when things are tough but nobody ever goes hungry.
"If we have one loaf of bread, it's divided and shared between everybody.
"The good thing is that all my boys are well behaved."
With her large brood of boys, Jucicleide still dreams of naming a little girl one day.
She added: "It would be wonderful to be able to choose her name and to finally hold up the red card to my husband."

Woman dubbed World's Ugliest reveals how she fought back against bullies

A woman once branded the 'world's ugliest' by cruel online trolls has told how she fought back against bullies.
Lizze Velasquez is now launching her own documentary telling the world how she was bullied from the age of 17.
She now hopes to use her own experiences to help others to stand up to online trolls and assure people that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Speaking to Sunrise, Lizzie, who lives in Texas in the US, said: "There's a light on the other side of being bullied and if I was able to find it I hope that I can use my experiences to help show you that you can also find that light on the other side of bullying."
Lizzie was born with neonatal progeroid syndrome, a rare genetic disorder than affects muscle tone, the brain, the heart, eyes and bones.
It also prevents her from gaining weight meaning she weighs just 30 kilograms, and gives the sufferer an 'aged' appearance.
Lizzie first experienced severe bullying when she was a teenager, after cruel trolls posted a video of her online, branding her 'the ugliest woman in the world'.
She said: "It made me feel awful, I think if anyone were to put themselves in my shoes the moment I found that video, and reading all the comments, I think you'd instantly know how I felt.
"It was horrible, I was upset, I was angry, and I didn't know how I was going to pick myself back up from it."

The Queen steps down: Serena Williams crashes out of US Open, loses world number one ranking

Serena Wiliams will have to wait for a record-breaking 23rd grand slam title after the American endured a shock US Open defeat to Karolina Pliskova.
Williams stood two victories away from beating Steffi Graf's Open-era best 22 major triumphs but her charge was ended in stunning fashion by Pliskova, who who won 6-2 7-6 (7/5).
The disappointment is doubled for Williams as it means she will also surrender the world number one ranking at the end of the tournament to Germany's Angelique Kerber.
Pliskova will now face either Kerber or Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki in her first grand slam final on Saturday.
The world number 11 had never gone past the third round of a major tournament before but she simply outplayed Williams at her own game, with power, aggression and a blistering serve.
"I don't believe it," Pliskova said on court afterwards. "Actually I do believe it. I always knew I had a chance to beat anyone if I play my game.
"It is amazing to be in the US Open final and to beat Serena because she is a champion.
"Even down a set and a break, she is still fighting but I'm just really happy I stayed there and got the win."
It is the second year running Williams has lost here in the semis and the 34-year-old, who turns 35 later this month, was hobbling in the second set.
After the match, she revealed she had been nursing a problem with her left knee in New York since round two.
"Yeah, I have been having some serious left knee problems," Williams said.
"I wasn't able to move the way I wanted to move. When you're injured you're thinking of other things when you should be just playing and thinking of your shots.
"My mind was just a little bit everywhere. But it was what it was."

Teeanger Reshma Quereshi who suffered acid attack takes to the runway at NY Fashion Week

This is the inspirational moment an Indian model left terribly scarred in an acid attack strutted down the runway at New York Fashion Week .
Courageous Reshma Quereshi, 19, walked down the catwalk to promote a ban on the sale of corrosive substances used to maim thousands of women and children each year.
Reshma opened the FTL Moda show today to applause in a stunning long-sleeved, white gown with embroidered appliques by Indian designer Archana Kochhar during her first trip to the United States.
The buzz and glamour of the event was a world away from Allahbad, India, where she suffered severe facial burns and lost an eye two years ago after being attacked with sulfuric acid by her estranged brother-in-law and two men.
After enduring numerous skin graft surgeries and contemplating suicide , she met the founder of Make Love Not Scars, a group that helps survivors of the gender-based crimes.
Quereshi is the face of the group's online video campaign, which has been viewed by 1.3 million people and led to her appearance in New York.
"I couldn't believe it was happening to me," Quereshi said about the trip through a translator.
"In that moment I felt extremely happy."
She said she hopes her turn on the catwalk will inspire hope and confidence in other acid attack survivors and spur countries to regulate the sale of cheap and easily available acids.
"No one else understands what an acid attack is except the survivors themselves," she said. "I do not want this to happen to anyone else."

Kylie and Kendall Jenner got stucked in an elevator until rescue came

None of these ladies knew that something horrible would happen when they were about to enjoy a party on Thursday night, September 8. Firefighters had to come to rescue Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner after the sisters got trapped inside an elevator when making their way to a New York Fashion Week event.
The two Jenners and their friends, Hailey Baldwin and Jordyn Woods, were heading out of their apartment building in New York when they found that they were stuck inside the elevator. Naturally, the reality TV stars and prolific social media users chose to spend their time documenting the situation on Snapchat.
"So my worst nightmare just happened. We are stuck in the elevator," Kylie was heard saying. "This is crazy, I'm dying," Hailey added.
After trying, and failing, to figure out how to open the door, the ladies just sat there on the floor while waiting for help to come. "I never thought that this would actually happen to us," Kylie said. "We're going to be fine."
The ladies just started talking about the only food they had at the time when the firefighters finally arrived. A man asked from outside if they were alright. "We're fine. My panic attack passed," Kendall joked.
In the end, the girls were rescued and the Jenner sisters concluded their Snapchat story by taking a picture with the FDNY members who saved them. "Thank you," Kendall wrote across the group photo.
