Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, who previously co-starred in "Crazy, Stupid, Love." and "Gangster Squad", might reunite for romantic musical movie "La La Land". According to Deadline, Stone will play an aspiring actress, Mia, who's lonely and desperate to fit in, while Gosling will star as charismatic jazz pianist Sebastian.
The film is from "Whiplash" writer and director Damien Chazelle. Chazelle wrote "La La Land" before his Oscar-nominated drama "Whiplash". It is described as an old fashioned musical set in contemporary Los Angeles about a love story between a jazz pianist and an aspiring actress. When Chazelle was asked about the project, he said, "It's a contemporary love story. It's about two dreamers in Los Angeles who are trying to make it. Their dreams bring them together but also end up pulling them apart. It's about how you kind of balance life and art and your dream life with reality, which to me is what musicals are all about."
"La La Land" was initially planned to star Miles Teller and Emma Watson before the duo departed for other projects. Teller is reportedly making a deal to star in "Home Is Burning, while Watson will star as Belle in "Beauty and the Beast (2017)".
