Caitlyn Jenner is not likely to be prosecuted for vehicular manslaughter. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department tells TMZ that media reports claiming the agency is recommending Caitlyn be prosecuted for vehicular manslaughter are incorrect.
The website previously reported that a 161-page report from the agency concluded Caitlyn, formerly known by the name Bruce Jenner, violated the misdemeanor manslaughter law by driving at an unsafe speed. Back in February, Caitlyn's SUV slammed into a Lexus before it, sending the car into oncoming traffic and killing the driver.
The report will be submitted to the L.A. County D.A. next Wednesday, August 26 and prosecutors will decide whether or not to file charges. With regard to the case, law enforcement sources have explained that it is possible that the charges will be filed.
Nevertheless, some sources say that the charge is hardly likely. It's because what Caitlyn did was like other inattentive drivers who crushed another car before them, except the fact that she sent the car into a fatal accident. One law enforcement previously said that Caitlyn's state of mind was the same as other drivers who are inattentive. The source also explained that people were prosecuted because of their state of mind, not their accidental action.
