Neville Neville, the father of former Manchester United footballers Gary and Phil, has died aged 65 after a heart attack.
Mr Neville, 65, collapsed in Australia, where he was with his daughter Tracey, the England netball head coach, ahead of the Netball World Cup in Sydney.
A
family statement said: "We would like to thank everyone at St Vincent’s
hospital in Sydney for the fantastic care and attention that dad
received in the last few days and for their support.
“Tracey will
remain with England throughout the tournament and we ask that she is
allowed to concentrate on her role with the team.”
Gary and Phil were understood to have travelled to Australia after their dad was taken ill.
Mr
Neville, who lives in Bury, Greater Manchester, is a former director of
League One club Bury FC, his hometown club, and spearheaded a campaign
to keep the club solvent more than 10 years ago.
He continued to work with the club and was appointed as an official
club ambassador last year. His wife Jill is general manager and club
secretary.
The club is understood to be set to release a statement later today.

England Netball spokesman said: "England Netball is saddened to
announce that Neville Neville, father of head coach Tracey, passed away
at hospital earlier this evening in Sydney.
