Lindsay Lohan is interested in Islam, I'm a very spiritual person

Lindsay Lohan is interested in learning Islam. The 29-year-old, who was raised Catholic, sparked speculation that she's converting to Islam when she was spotted carrying a copy of the Koran in NYC last summer.

Now the actress herself opens up about her interest in the religion. "I'm a very spiritual person and I'm really open to learning," she tells The Sun. "America has portrayed holding a Koran in such a different way to what it actually is." She also reveals, "I'm not done reading it. Do you know how long that would take? It takes so long."

She adds, "We all believe in something and at the end of the day it all ties to a god or a spiritual adviser.... We all have a similar belief in whatever it may be personally. My sister is Buddhist but she is still interested in learning other things from me. It's good to be open-minded."

Her rep doesn't say if Lohan is converting to Islam, but states, "Lindsay has always been very spiritual and is open to exploring all religions and beliefs. She is simply educating herself on other peoples beliefs."
