Maxi Lopez showed exactly what he thinks of a rival player now married to his ex-wife - by refusing his handshake and grabbing his crotch as he walks past him.
TV cameras captured the moment Torino striker Lopez made his rude gesture when he reached fellow Argentine Mauro Icardi before kick-off in Sunday’s Serie A match against Inter Milan.
Maxi’s ex-wife Wanda Nara, now married to Icardi, was in the stands with her three children by her first husband and the child with her new love.#InterTorino Nessuna stretta di mano tra Maxi Lopez e Icardi. https://t.co/B3JtSKfl73 Inevitabile— Wagsapp (@WagsApp) April 3, 2016
The crotch grab incident was reminiscent of another Argentine player’s reaction to booing Real Madrid fans - the club’s former star Angel Di Maria when he was hauled off for Gareth Bale after a lacklustre performance in January last year.
The midfielder, now with PSG, later apologised for causing any offence but insisted it was not done deliberately.
Lopez refused to shake his ex-pal’s hand when they met on the field in an April 2014 Serie A match between Sampdoria and Inter, leading the press to dub the game the ‘Wanda derby.’
Things between them soured even more when last June Icardi tweeted a new arm tattoo of the three children Wanda had with Maxi Lopez with the message: “I love these three little angels.”
