Taken by a member of the public, it shows a number of police officers firing into the cabin of the lorry as a man, thought to be the alleged terrorist Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel sits at the wheel of the vehicle.
The 31-year-old French-Tunisian had just gone on a mile-long rampage zigzagging along the Promenade des Anglais massacring at least 84 men, women and children.
Bodies of his victims littered the road behind him after he sped away from chasing police officers desperately trying to stop him from killing more.
The large white lorry has come to a stop in the middle of the promenade.
Close by are restaurants and hotels - which would have been packed full of tourists and residents celebrating France's national day.
The high-vis reflective patches on the back of the police officers' uniforms can be seen shining brightly as lights from arriving police cars hit the back of the brave cops.
A line of officers then, with their firearms pointed directly at the lorry, form a ring of steel around it as orders are screamed to each other in French.
