You expect a power couple to pull power moves. Which is why you shouldn't be shocked that Jay Z and Beyoncé are reportedly prepping one of the biggest musical power plays of all time.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Jayonce are prepping their first joint tour, which is slated to hit around 20 U.S. cities.
Speaking
to anonymous sources close to the production, the paper reported that
the stadium outing is expected to be titled the Mr. & Mrs. Carter
Tour and will launch on June 13 in Atlanta and wind down on August 6 in
San Francisco. In between, the Carters may hit New York for a 4th of
July blowout. Another
tentative date includes a gig at the Rose Bowl in
Pasadena, California, on August 3.
News of the tour was first reported by the New York Post
earlier this week, but so far neither artist's camp has commented; MTV
News has reached out and received no comment from either artist's
representatives.
The tour is also reportedly slated to go overseas
to Europe in the fall, with multiple shows slated for Paris in
September. Both Jay and Bey recently completed major tours of their own,
including Jigga's run of stadium dates with Justin Timberlake. Though
the couple have recorded joint hits like "Crazy In Love" and "Drunk In
Love," they have never hit the road together.
On Wednesday, Jay announced that his Budweiser Made in America festival would double down with bicoastal editions taking place in downtown Los Angeles and Philadelphia on Labor Day
.
