Liverpool Manager 'Rodgers' surprised by Moyes' comments

Liverpool Manager 'Rodgers' surprised by Moyes' comments

Brendan Rodgers admitted he was taken aback when David Moyes had declared Liverpool were the favourites to win at Old Trafford and said he would never have said the same about any visitors to Anfield.

Liverpool justified Moyes’ billing by winning 3-0 with two penalties from captain Steven Gerrard as well as Luis Suarez’s 25th goal of the prolific season but Rodgers said that, unlike his Manchester United counterpart, it was not in his nature to be so defeatist before a game.

He explained: “I was probably surprised before the game when I heard we were supposedly coming to Old Trafford as favourites. I would never say that at Liverpool -- even if I was bottom of the league.

“Anfield is Anfield. We expect to win and we have a mentality that has been developing over 18 months which we expect to win home and away and the belief is in the players and you see that in their game.”

While United are seventh, the position Liverpool finished 12 months ago, Rodgers insisted his first season at Anfield should not be likened to Moyes’ difficult start at Old Trafford.

Mourinho - illogical Premier League Matches Scheduling hurts England's Top Clubs Glory in Champions League

Mourinho - illogical Premier League Matches Scheduling hurts England's Top Clubs Glory in Champions League

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes England's top clubs are being handicapped in the Champions League by the illogical scheduling of Premier League matches.

While many national associations strive to aide their clubs when they are preparing for high-profile European games, England's elite are often handed fixture dates and times that appear to hand their rivals an advantage in the Champions League.

Now Mourinho has called on the Premier League's decision makers to change their mentality and hand their clubs more advantages in a bid to bolster European ambitions that have been floundering in the last couple of seasons.

"Do people not care that English teams are struggling in Europe?" asked the Chelsea boss. "Why don't they? I care. Television deserves to be powerful because, without them, nothing would be the same, but there is space in the calendar that could be filled with communication.

Chris Brown was arrested on Friday (March 14) for violating his probation.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told the Associated Press that the R&B singer was taken into custody at 2 p.m. on a warrant issued by probation officials. He is reportedly being held without bail.

Brown was ordered to 90 days in in a treatment facility in November to treat anger-management issues after

Jimmy Fallon Parodies 'First Kiss' Video With Kittens and Puppies

Jimmy Fallon Parodies 'First Kiss' Video With Kittens and Puppies

Jimmy Fallon decided to poke fun at the latest viral video "First Kiss" which has gathered more than 50 million viewers on YouTube. He presented in the Thursday, March 13 episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" a video of cats and dogs kissing for the first time.

Titled "First Lick", Fallon's video screamed cuteness when a pack of puppies and kittens sniffed each other and then "kissed." But like any other animal, they did not only kiss in the mouth. Soko's "We Might Be Dead by Tomorrow", which was used in the original video, was playing in the black and white video.

"First Kiss" was an ad by clothing company Wren to showcase Melissa Coker's fall collection for Style.com's Video Fashion Week. The fashion designer asked 20 strangers to kiss for the first time and the result was enticing millions of people.

"She gets better attention here than an actual fashion show during Fashion Week," artistic director at Zappos Couture Andre Leon Talley commented on Coker's ad. "You can't reach 40 million viewers in an 11- to 15-minute fashion runway presentation."

US Airways plane blows tire on takeoff in Philadelphia, passengers evacuated

A US Airways plane blew a tire during takeoff Thursday evening at Philadelphia's airport, an airline spokesman said, with witnesses recalling seeing the plane "bounce" before screeching to a halt.

Citing initial reports, US Airways spokesman Todd Lehmacher said the commercial airliner's pilot decided to abort takeoff after the tire issue. Philadelphia International Airport tweeted, and photos indicate, that the plane's nose gear collapsed.

Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers said two women from the plane were transported to the city's Methodist Hospital, one with a minor injury and the other with a minor illness.

"This is a good time," Ayers said, referring to the response and the fact things turned out as well as they did. "It worked out alright."

Flight 1702 was scheduled to take off at 5:50 p.m. and arrive in Fort Lauderdale about three hours later, according to US Airways' website, though Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Jim Peters said the incident took place around 6:25 p.m.

Jose Mourinho makes things clear after Yaya Toure's comment on 'RESPECT'

Jose Mourinho makes things clear after Yaya Toure's comment on 'RESPECT'

LONDON -- Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes he has been misinterpreted by Yaya Toure after the Manchester City midfielder accused him of using press conferences to unsettle his Premier League rivals.

Toure's told the Spanish media that Mourinho "talks more than before" following City’s Champions League exit against Barcelona on Wednesday, with the Ivorian suggesting the Stamford Bridge boss' use of mind games was a sideshow to this season’s title race.

Yet Mourinho was quick to insist his messages of good will towards Arsenal and City ahead of their Champions League matches against Bayern Munich and Barca were not designed to put pressure on his domestic rivals, as he stressed Toure had misconstrued the message he was hoping to convey.

"He has a strange concept of lack of respect," Mourinho told a news conference on Friday when offered the chance to respond to Toure's criticisms.

"If to say before the Munich match and Camp Nou match 'this is not over, Arsenal and City have enough quality to turn things around,' if to support the teams in the country where I work, if this is lack of respect, OK.

"I think Arsenal and City show in Munich and Barcelona that I was right. They both play very good matches. This is not a lack of respect, this is support.

"The same way I say Man City have three matches in hand [in the Premier League]. They are capable of winning all three and be top of the league. I try in both occasions to be respectful with the two English teams."

The Surprising Way the Netherlands Is Helping Its Disabled Have S*x

The Surprising Way the Netherlands Is Helping Its Disabled Have S*x

The Netherlands is known for its social subsidies on everything from education to housing, but it's also subsidizing sex for the disabled. With prostitution legalized in the country, the government is boosting both the domestic sex economy and the intimate endeavors of its disabled citizens. Put simply, sex is increasingly characterized as a right everyone should be able to enjoy.

While there is no direct "sex grant" per se, the benefits disabled citizens receive can be spent however they like. Some reports indicate that they can use these benefits to access sex services 12 times a year, but information on the specifics is elusive. One 29-year-old named Chris Fulton, who has cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy, has even launched a campaign calling on the Dutch government to introduce a more concrete grant scheme.

But why sex? Besides the obvious pleasure, intercourse is a form of mental and physical therapy. In psychology, many experts cite its ability to fulfill needs for intimacy, validation, stress relief or stronger self-esteem. In health circles, it's a known antidote to stress and even pain management. Citing this research and personal testimonies, social workers, caretakers and impacted individuals are calling for increased access to sex services for disabled citizens.

Man City season a 'failure' if they don't win Premier League, says Jamie Redknapp after Barcelona loss

Man City season a 'failure' if they don't win Premier League, says Jamie Redknapp after Barcelona loss

Manchester City's season is on the brink of 'absolute failure' following their Champions League exit to Barcelona, says Jamie Redknapp.

Manuel Pellegrini's men were unable to overturn their first leg deficit at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night as goals from Lionel Messi and Dani Alves condemned them to a 4-1 aggregate defeat.

Their European disappointment comes just days after a shock FA Cup loss at home to Wigan and Sky Sports pundit Redknapp says, with City trailing Chelsea by nine points with three games in hand in the Premier League, their season is quickly unravelling.

City have added the Capital One Cup to their trophy cabinet, with victory over Sunderland earlier this month, but Redknapp reckons the club should be winning more silverware, given the money and talent at their disposal.

"[It would be an] absolute failure [if City only won one trophy this season] because of the money they've spent previously and the quality of the players they've had," said Redknapp.

Paul Walker's Alleged Sunglasses From Crash Site Up for Auction

Paul Walker's Alleged Sunglasses From Crash Site Up for Auction

Some items which were supposedly taken from crash scene where Paul Walker died last year are being auctioned off. The items which are being offered include sunglasses which he allegedly wore that day, a fire extinguisher which was used in an effort to save the actor and his friend Roger Rodas as well as a piece of wreck.

"We photo-matched them to the one's Paul was wearing [that day]," said an auction specialist at BidAMI.com called Kieta, as reported by New York Daily News. "And of course the statement from the person who obtained them," she added, without revealing the seller's name.

The person who sold the items claimed that he found the sunglasses in the bush at the crash site after the

Man Who Woke Up in Body Bag Has Died

Man Who Woke Up in Body Bag Has Died
The Mississippi man who was pronounced dead before waking up in a body bag has now actually passed away, according to his local newspaper.

Walter Williams, 78, died early Thursday morning, the Clarion-Ledger reports. On Feb. 26, the farmer grabbed headlines for what his family called a "resurrection": Just hours after being declared dead and transported to a funeral home, he awoke alive and flailing in a body bag, and was treated at a hospital.

"He was not dead, long story short," funeral director Byron Porter told a local news network at the time, and the county coroner deemed the incident a miracle.

Seth Rogen Calls Justin Bieber 'Obnoxious'

Seth Rogen Calls Justin Bieber 'Obnoxious'

Seth Rogen slammed Justin Bieber and talked about smoking weed in a recent TV appearance. The comedian stopped by Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" on Wednesday, March 12. During a skit called "Spill the Herbal Tea", he revealed some names of stars he had smoked weed with as well as others who didn't smoke.

In the show, Rogen said that he had smoked weed with Snoop Dogg. He also shared that he did it with Sarah Silverman and Paul Rudd "lots of times," while Jonah Hill joined him "a few times." The 31-year-old star, however, revealed that he did not have a chance to smoke with Barbra Streisand. "No, but we talked about it a lot. She smoked weed with Peter Sellers though. That's the craziest s**t ever!" he said.

Yaya Toure: Mourinho must show City Respect

Yaya Toure: Mourinho must show City Respect

Yaya Toure has told Marca that Jose Mourinho should stop speaking to the press about other clubs and start showing Manchester City more respect.

The Chelsea manager has piling the pressure on City in the Premier League title race, claiming repeatedly that the crown is already theirs to lose, but Toure is not convinced.

"I think (Mourinho) talks more than before, perhaps because the English press likes it," City's former Barcelona midfielder said following the two club’s Champions League meeting on Wednesday.

"He is a coach and he must give respect a little bit. He is always talking about everyone and that is not the correct way. That is why Barcelona always beat Madrid when Mourinho was here."

Manuel Pellegrini’s men will lead the Premier League if they win all their games, but have ground to make up to leaders having played three games fewer due to domestic cup fixtures.

The Chilean coach and Mourinho have clashed several times this season as their sides fight it out for the title.

The Portuguese has accused City of being "lucky" with key refereeing decisions going in their favour, highlighted the strength and cost of their squad.

Jennifer Lopez Premieres 'I Luh Ya Papi' Music Video Ft. French Montana

Jennifer Lopez Premieres 'I Luh Ya Papi' Music Video Ft. French Montana

Jennifer Lopez has unveiled the full music video for her collaboration with French Montana, "I Luh Ya Papi". Arriving on Thursday, March 13, the clip was shot in Miami last month by director Jessy Terrero.

It opens with Lopez sitting with her friends and discussing the concept of her "I Luh Ya Papi" visuals. After one of her friends complains about videos that feature women being objectified, Lopez then dreams of a video where she objectifies men.

The Latin star is later seen walking through a bedroom full of half-naked men before joining her girlfriends and a bunch of other shirtless hunky males in a pool. The clip also features Lopez doing some throwbacks to her most famous looks in the past. She rocks styles from her "I'm Real" music video and dons the Versace dress she wore at the Grammys.

Produced by The Detail, "I Luh Ya Papi" is the first single off Lopez's upcoming eighth album that is expected to be released later this year.

"My roots are hip-hop, my roots are R&B, my roots are pop, my roots are Latin," J.Lo recently told Power 106 of her forthcoming record. "All that always comes out in my records. I've always found that when I follow my own heart, that's when my music is the best. This album is right back to that for me."

'Fast and Furious 7' Returns to Abu Dhabi to Resume Filming in April

"Fast and Furious 7" is ready to resume production after a few months of break. It's confirmed that the crew will be heading back to the Mideast city of Abu Dhabi to shoot more new scenes. They already filmed some stunt shots and helicopter footage in the Middle Eastern country before Paul Walker died on November 30 last year.

"We look forward to welcoming the stars and crew of Fast & Furious 7 in April. This is a great opportunity to not only generate international exposure for Abu Dhabi, but to also provide young Emiratis with work experience, which could help them to become the region's future filmmakers," says twofour54, the country's government-backed media.

Cesc Fabregas - I see difficult road ahead

Cesc Fabregas - I see difficult road ahead

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes it will be 'very difficult' for the Nou Camp class of 2014 to match the brilliance of the relentlessly successful Barca team that reigned supreme in the Champions League a few years ago.

Fabgreas admitted the 4-1 aggregate win against Manchester City was a huge boost after recent setbacks for Barca, but the former Arsenal midfielder appeared to suggest that expectations need to be lowered among the Catalan faithful after years of being spoilt by brilliant success.

Barcelona most recently won the Champions League in 2009 and 2011.

"To be the Barcelona of two, three four years ago is very difficult," Fabregas told Sky Sports. "This was probably the best team in the history of football and it's very difficult to maintain this level every season. We don't ask for it.

America's First Muslim Fraternity

 America's First Muslim Fraternity

When you think of fraternities, the first things that usually come to mind are house parties and keg stands, not kufis and prayer rugs. But the brothers of Alpha Lambda Mu — or Alif Laam Meem, as they are also known — are out to change people's ideas of fraternities, as well as their perceptions of young American Muslims.

ALM, the first Muslim fraternity in the U.S., was founded last year by Ali Mahmoud, a junior at the University of Texas, Dallas. Since then, chapters have opened at Cornell University and University of California, San Diego, and there are plans to expand this fall at San Diego State and the University of Florida.

"I realized that there was this void for Muslims on campus," Mahmoud told NPR. "A lot of us come from immigrant families and so, growing up in America, a lot of us have to live a double life ... where we try to please our family, in terms of our Islamic upbringing, and then we go to school ... and we're just trying to fit in. We're just trying to be cool."

Watch Mahmoud discuss how he came up with the idea of a Muslim fraternity:

Bill O'Reilly Criticised Beyonce's 'Partition' Music Video - It could lead to Unwanted Pregnancies

Bill O'Reilly has made it clear that he's not a fan of the music and sexually explicit videos featured in Beyonce Knowles' visuals album "Beyonce". The TV host said in a recent episode of his show, "The O'Reilly Factor", that the former Destiny's Child member was a bad influence for teenage fans, especially girls.

O'Reilly was sitting down with Russell Simmons and was supposed to talk about the Def Jam co-founder's new book when he criticized Beyonce's "Partition" music video. "She puts out a new album with a video that glorifies having sex in the back of a limousine," he said.

"Teenage girls look up to Beyonce, particularly girls of color," he continued. "I'm saying why on earth would this woman do that. Why would she do it when she knows the devastation that unwanted pregnancies... and fractured families - why would Beyonce do that?"

In other news, reports recently suggested that Kim and Kanye would sign a prenuptial agreement in which the rapper would provide as much as $500,000 to $1 million each year during their marriage. A source close to the couple, however, dismissed the rumored agreement. "That's all wrong," the source told E! News.
