The Most Cheerful Drone Video Ever

This might be one of the most unique Christmas videos we've seen this year. Artists George Zisiadis and Mustafa Khan decked a mini "drone" with glittering garlands and sprigs of mistletoe, before flying it over the heads of unsuspecting passerby in San Francisco's Union Square. Couples (or would-be couples) — both young and old, gay and straight — adorably obliged the drone's demands. Some even signaled for it to fly their way.

Zisiadis' imaginative and subversive works seek to alter people's relationships to their environments for the better, and are a nice shift from the popular tone of technological paranoia. Zisiadis told PolicyMic, "My work is about playfully re-imagining the world around us. Drones have been causing all sorts of paranoia lately and I wanted to reframe them from being something scary and ominous to be being fun and human. Its not about the technology, its about how we use it." It's certainly one way to get people into the holiday spirit.

Zisiadis' past projects include the world's first interactive balloon immersion, a bubbleverse, and cards placed on public transit that encourage people sitting next to each other to strike up a conversation. More whimsical ideas for city transformation can be found in his book Urban Imagination, out now.

Video- Kanye West Wrote the Best Christmas Song Ever

Kanye released "Christmas In Harlem" in 2010 as part of his GOOD Fridays series of free music giveaways.

It samples songs by Marvin Gaye and Shuggie Otis, tacks on a slew of verses by other artists, and "raps" (sorry, I had to do it) them up neatly with a bow.

The song takes a look at the holiday season from the perspective of Harlem residents, and includes the typical themes of family, gifts, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and last-minute shopping. It also touches on drugs and luxury, and includes some of West's most atypical sex references:

"The streets lit up, it feel like Christmas officiallyTold her that 'You the star at the top of my Christmas tree'My only question is, 'Where my presents?'She said, 'Shhh,' she got a gift for me that ain’t for the kids to see"

While many of us might think of Christmas music as sappy, sentimental tracks laden with too many jingling bells and kids' choirs, West is actually tapping into a rich tradition of hip hop artists releasing holiday-themed music that brings different themes to the table.

Run-DMC is perhaps the most famous example. The group released its classic horn-filled ode to the holidays, "Christmas in Hollis," in 1987. Much like "Christmas In Harlem," the track references a New York City neighborhood — Hollis, Queens, where the duo is from.
Other major hip hop artists such as Ludacris, Snoop Lion, and Outkast have all tried their hand at Christmas tracks. While West and Run-DMC have left the strongest impressions with their takes on the holidays, the hip hop holiday tradition is as rich as the Christmas pudding you'll soon be devouring.

This is Who Really Holds the Power in the Jay-Z Beyonce Power Couple

Beyoncé has been running the world for a while now, but she was especially dominant this week. Her surprise album, Beyoncé, ravaged Twitter and then became the fastest-selling album in the history of the iTunes store. It's been showered with praise and has cemented her status at the top of the pop food chain.

At the very top, in fact — suddenly, Mrs. Carter is Queen of Jay-Z himself. But that's not the way she presents it. Beyoncé is currently performing on the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, a name that presents her, first and foremost, as Jay-Z's wife. But in a year when Beyoncé took a huge step forward, Jay-Z took a step back. There's no reason for Beyoncé to create her identity around Jay. The label "Mrs. Carter" may be important for Beyoncé herself, but if anything, Jay-Z should start calling himself Mr. Knowles. Yet she's always been seen as his girl.

When the power couple started got involved in the early 2000s, Jay-Z was the established artist and Beyoncé the pop upstart. Jay-Z was a gifted rapper who expressed the everyday life of New York's underclass. Beyoncé was largely a sex symbol. After they got together, Jay started adding fiery verses to Beyoncé's songs like "Crazy in Love" and "Deja Vu." He was one of the first to add cred, talent, and muscle, and he helped shape the popular perception of her as a real artist.

Video - Who makes the final GALAXY11?

Franz Beckenbauer has chosen his all-star line-up and it features many of the planet's finest football talent but will the best of Earth be good enough?

It started in October with the sightings of mysterious circles at landmarks across the globe and was followed by the arrival at top football grounds of a group of strange robed figures. The curiosity of football fans was raised by #WINNERTAKESEARTH until the extraordinary riddle was solved... with the setting of a unique global challenge.

Franz Beckenbauer revealed last month he was compiling a team of "the world's finest" and the concept of the GALAXY11 was born. Details of its purpose remained ambiguous but Beckenbauer was clear that the mission was linked to mysterious circles beamed onto Sugerloaf mountain in Rio de Janeiro and Times Square in New York. The huge hole gouged into London's Hackney Marshes by a ball bearing was also connected.

Listen to Angel Haze's Brilliant New Song "A Tribe Called Red"

In addition to cover art for her long-awaited album, Angel Haze just released a lyric video for her newest song "A Tribe Called Red." Like her other pieces, while the song's beat pulls you in, it's the lyrics that take center stage.

The song is a vow to fans that Haze will keep her music real despite her impending fame tin 2014. She also snuck in some Azealia Banks references, reminiscent of their on-going Twitter battle, for good measure.

Hip-hop is notoriously unkind to women, much less female artists themselves. Look around and you'll see the likes of Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, both of whom are really more pop than hip-hop. Their audiences are pop fans — not those who listen to Kendrick and J.Cole (nor the ones who complained when J.Cole's first album seriously dissed the underground hip-hop community).

Lady GaGa & Christina Aguilera in 'Do What U Want' on 'The Voice' Finale

Lady GaGa performed her single "Do What U Want" on "The Voice" on Tuesday night, December 17. The Mother Monster wasn't alone as Christina Aguilera, who's also a coach on the singing competition, joined her onstage to sing the second cut off "ARTPOP" album.

Wearing a shiny outfit and a wig, GaGa sang while dancing with some dancers. Appearing onstage mid-song, Aguilera showed off her figure in a dress with similar color to GaGa's. The two singers sounded and looked perfect together.

At one point, GaGa rested her head on Aguilera's chest. The performance ended with the two pop stars linking arms with glasses of champagne.

GaGa and Aguilera were not the only performers on that night's show. Celine Dion and Ne-Yo hit the stage and delivered the first live performance of their uplifting duet, "Incredible".

Previously, Dion sang her hit single called "Love Can Move Mountains" with Adam Levine's protege Tessane Chin, who later came out as the winner of the fifth season of "The Voice".

Just when he's about to play the first bar in front of expectant audience at a jam-packed auditorium, Tom notices somebody has written a threatening note on his music sheet. "Play one wrong note and you die," it reads. Now he must get through the most difficult performance of his life and maybe seeks help without his mysterious tormentor knowing.

The thriller is supported by John Cusack and Tamsin Egerton. It will be available on video-on-demand starting January 30, 2014 before opening in selected theaters in the United States on March 7.

New 'Penny Dreadful' Teaser Shows the Demon Inside Eva Green

Showtime has released a fresh teaser of new series "Penny Dreadful", giving the first official look at Eva Green in character. Donning a black dress, she's featured humming a prayer before she's seemingly getting possessed by the devil.

On the psycho-sexual horror show, the "300: Rise of an Empire" actress portrays Vanessa Ives, a "seductive and formidable beauty full of secrets and danger." She will prove herself a force to be reckoned with and is the heroine of the series.

Created by John Logan, the show takes place in Victorian London and weaves together the classic origin stories of horror icons like Dr. Frankenstein and his creature, Dorian Grey, and several characters from the novel Dracula.

Josh Hartnett lands a role as Ethan Chandler, a fake American cowboy who impresses Victorian women, but has a dark side. He isn't afraid of violence and is more complicated than he likes to admit.

Harry Treadaway will play Victor Frankenstein, Reeve Carney is cast as the immortal Dorian Gray, and Billie Piper stars as Brona Croft, an Irish immigrant seeking to escape her dark past.

Logan serves as executive producer alongside Sam Mendes and Pippa Harris. "The Orphanage" director Juan Antonio Bayona helmed the first two episodes of the show, which is slated to debut in spring 2014.

Lil Wayne Falls Victim to Celebrity Death Hoax

Lil Wayne fell victim to a false death report after a video entitled "R.I.P. - Rapper Lil Wayne Found Dead" was recently spread on social media. According to the false report, Wayne was found dead after he suffered from seizure.

The video apparently was a means to spread computer viruses as people were required to share it via Facebook before viewing. Spin points out that previously some people with malicious intent spread a false report saying that Eminem became victim of near-fatal stabbing and used similar virus-spreading method.

Earlier this year, Wayne experienced health problems and was treated in hospital. He later opened up about his condition, saying that he was prone to seizure. "The bad news is I'm an epileptic," he said during an interview on L.A. radio station Power 106 in March.

"I'm prone to seizures. This isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizures. I've had a bunch of seizures, y'all just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad 'cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could've died, so that is why it was so serious. The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself," he explained.

Beyonce Sets New iTunes Sales Record With Self-Titled Album 'Beyonce'

Despite being released with no promotion, Beyonce Knowles' self-titled new album "Beyonce" managed to become the fastest-selling album in iTunes history. Apple reported that the set sold 828,773 around the world in its first three days, including 617,213 in the United States.

"Beyonce" also broke iTunes' first week album sales record in the country. The record was previously set by Taylor Swift, when her latest studio effort "Red" moved 465,000 copies in its first seven days after being released on October 28, 2012.

The fact that Beyonce's long-awaited fifth album came as a surprise sure helped boost the sales. Additionally, fans were forced to buy the whole album consisting of 14 songs and 17 music videos for $15.99 because they couldn't buy individual songs.

"Beyonce" is now set to debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200 and give Bey her fifth consecutive No. 1 set on the chart. Recently, the former Destiny's Child member revealed that she would release two songs as the album's lead singles. The Pharrell Williams-produced "Blow" will hit Top 40 while the Jay-Z-assisted "Drunk in Love" will go to urban radio.

'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' Teaser: 'I Need to Speak to Caesar'

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" has just got a very brief teaser. Only ten seconds long, the video doesn't give much. It shows a splattering rain in a dense forest as someone shouts, "I need to speak to Caesar." The sci-fi pic is slated for U.S. release on June 11, 2014, and its trailer is expected to debut Wednesday, December 18.

In the "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" sequel, a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

Directed by Mat Reeves, it will see Andy Serkis returning as Caesar. Terry Notary and Karin Konoval reprise their ape roles as well. Judy Greer portrays Caesar's love interest, and the likes of Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Keri Russell are added to replace the human cast in the first film.

HBO Debuts First Footage of 'Game of Thrones' Season 4

HBO gives a sneak peek at what it has to offer in 2014 while looking back at its 2013 programs in a newly-released "Yearender" promo. Perhaps the most interesting one is a first look at "Game of Thrones" season 4, which hasn't got any official trailer yet.

New footage from the upcoming season of the medieval series emerges in the second half of the video. Though short, it manages to give a look at Tyrion in shackles while being led up the throne room, and Joffrey looking pensive at what is possibly his wedding. Sansa, meanwhile, is not in King's Landing anymore.

Also promoted in the video are the final season of "True Blood", new season of "Veep", HBO's new shows namely "True Detective", "Looking", "The Leftovers" and "Silicon Valley", as well as miniseries "Olive Kitteridge".

The fourth season of "Game of Thrones" will premiere in spring. New cast members include Pedro Pascal as Prince Oberyn Martell a.k.a. Red Viper, Indira Varma as Red Viper's love interest, Mark Gatiss as Tycho Nestoris, and Joel Fry as Hizdahr zo Loraq who crosses paths with Daenerys Targaryen.
