The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities,ASUU , Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Dr Lawan Abubakar has debunked media reports that the union had postponed its National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting slated for tomorrow.

According to him, the Union had previously postponed the scheduled NEC meeting to mourn the death of Festus Iyayi, a former President, who tragically passed last Tuesday in a motor accident along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.

Abubakari also denied that the striking lecturers had accepted the over N1trillion offer by the Federal Government, adding that the Union is agitating for the full implementations of the 2009 agreement, and“nothing less”.

Lost Tomb Of Jesus Found

What is the scientific likelihood that the tomb of Jesus and his family is in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Talpiot? Is it possible that the original nails used in the crucifixion have been discovered in another cave, in the capital’s Abu Tor neighborhood?  The question may be decided in a court in Israel.

Journalist and filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici is suing anthropologist Joe Zias, who in recent years has been doing his utmost to disprove his provocative theories on early Christianity.

Jacobovici, known for his TV series “The Naked Archaeologist,” became famous in recent years for three films he made about the earliest days of Christianity.

Joseph E. Zias, most commonly cited as Joe Zias, was the Curator of Archaeology and Anthropology for the Israel Antiquities Authority from 1972 until his retirement in 1997, with responsibility for items such as the Dead Sea Scrolls, pre-historic human skeletal remains, and artifacts from archaeological sites such as Jericho, Megiddo, and Gezer.  He has appeared often in film and television documentaries regarding such artifacts and the subject of the Historical Jesus, including The Shroud of Turin for CBS, Who Killed Jesus on BBC in 1997 and Son of God on BBC in 2001, and is a frequent lecturer.

Jacobovici completed a film a year ago, in which he revealed that ossuaries found in a cave near the first one in Talpiot bore unusual engravings, which according to him are the first symbols of Christianity.

In all, he believes that those buried in the tomb were Jesus’ first followers, which strengthens his theory that the burial cave of Jesus was nearby.

Pyramid of Atlantis

Scientists continues to explore the ruins of megaliths in the so-called Yucatan channel near Cuba. They have been found for many miles along the coast. American archaeologists, who discovered this place, immediately declared that they found Atlantis (not the first time in history, underwater archaeology).

Now it’s occasionally visited by scuba divers, and all other interested can enjoy only in surveying and computer reconstruction of the buried water city of a millennium age.

Gratitude

Sometimes working in a restaurant can be a beautiful thing.  Granted, most times it is an ugly and evil thing but on those rare moments when someone leaves you a 100.00 on a 12 dollar check, it is beautiful.

One of my regulars decided to make my night and leave a ridiculous tip for a very small check.  He usually comes in with his wife and they are the perfect table; they are friendly, patient, kind, gracious and funny.  I love when they come in, I love being their server and frankly, I wish they were my grandparents.  It is really rare for servers to build lasting connections with their tables but I actually want to have them over for dinner.

(Hey, I know what they like to eat after all. )

This tip is gigantic and wonderful and do you know what makes it better?  The patron who gave it to me being the  kind soul he is, and I would trade that Benjamin in to have them sit in my section every night.  I take good care of them because I think they are genuine and nice, not because they tip me well.  So THANK YOU for giving me a large tip but THANK YOU MORE for being a lovely couple of people who treat me with respect and kindness at my workplace.

THAT means more to me than any dollar amount could.

Pay it forward!

A WORLD OF ITS OWN

For mega-wealthy young men of the Gulf Arab states nothing says 'I am rich' more aptly than to Instagram yourself and your lion or cheetah posing alongside your Mercedes or Lamborghini or motoring along in a speedboat.

Showing off the Persian Gulf's latest 'ultimate status symbol', the penchant for posting big cat photos on Instagram betrays the young men's sheer bravado or stupidity, depending on your point of view. Indeed, while the intimacy on display the owners seem to share with their cats is clearly touching, others could possibly think of better ways to flaunt their wealth than sharing feeding time or bathing with fully grown 400pound lions

Eagerly followed by over 250,000 followers on the popular photo-sharing website, Humaid AlBuQaish, has become cult viewing as he regularly posts himself and his big cats online.

While it is not entirely clear what AlBuQaish does for a living or how he accumulated his fabulous wealth and pets, it is clear that he lives a life of luxury that most can only dream of.

Trusting his cats implicitly, AlBuQaish is pictured feeding his menagerie of lethal predators and wrestling with them - all the while showing off the fact that he owns such magnificent creatures.

Video- shows crash of Russian Plane

KAZAN, Russia (AP) — The passenger jet went down in a steep dive and exploded in a giant fireball on the tarmac in a chilling video broadcast Monday by Russian television stations.

The Boeing 737 plane belonging to Tatarstan Airlines crashed Sunday night at its home port of Kazan, 720 kilometers (520 miles) east of Moscow, killing all 50 people aboard.

It was making its second attempt at a landing, according to Alexander Poltinin, head of the local branch of Russia's Investigative Committee, who said investigators are looking into possible pilot error or equipment failure.

The traffic controller at the Kazan airport who contacted the plane before the crash said the crew told him they weren't ready to land as it was approaching but didn't specify the problem.

Ran from the Dark

I always admired my grandfather’s courage. He had fought in the war on what we nowadays think of as the wrong side, but he had never been a believer in the cause. Sometimes a rifle is pressed in your hand and your choice is either to fire and worry about being shot from the front, or not to fire and be sure that you’ll be shot from behind.

He was young when he was drafted, barely 16. Before he left he gave his first kiss and a promise to a girl.

She waited five years until the end of the war, surviving on just five or six letters that she kept as treasure.

Old Child

An 80 year old man was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his 45years old highly educated son. Suddenly a crow perched on their window.

The Father asked his Son, "What is this?"

The Son replied "It is a crow".

After a few minutes, the Father asked his Son the 2nd time, "What is this?"

The Son said "Father, I have just now told you "It's a crow".

After a little while, the old Father again asked his Son the 3rd time, What is this?"

At this time some expression of irritation was felt in the Son's tone when he said to his Father with a rebuff. "It's a crow, a crow".

A little after, the Father again asked his Son t he 4th time, "What is

this?"
