"Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world," the spokesperson said.
"Janet had a stress-free, healthy delivery and is resting comfortably."
The name Eissa, pronounced 'Aay-sah', comes from Hebrew and means 'God is salvation'. In Arabic
It's not the first time Janet has invoked religion in her personal life – she often signs off messages to fans with 'Alhamdulillah', which means 'all praise is due to God alone'.
While Janet has yet to publicly confirm her religious views, her latest album, Unbreakable, features far less of the sexual language she used to be known for, which could be an indication of her changing beliefs.
