After the clips were posted on the reality TV star's Snapchat, Gomez took to Twitter to express disappointment over celebrities who use their voice for something unimportant. "There are more important things to talk about... Why can't people use their voice for something that f**king matters?" she tweeted. "Truth is last thing we need right now is hate, in any form." Her statement, however, didn't sit well with a lot of her followers who then criticized her and pointed out that she herself hadn't used her voice to speak out about various tragedies that had happened in the past few months. "I love you but how about you use it as well to talk about what matters? you haven't spoke up about a lot of things," one fan wrote. "You didn't speak up about what was going on in our world but now that Taylor is getting dragged you come on."
"As a Texas native and a friend of Christina Grimmie, why haven't you expressed concerns about GUN CONTROL?" another said. "Oh word... did you make a comment on #blacklivesmatter yet? don't worry, we got time sis," another commenter added.
