Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus has won the honour of being the global cover athlete for EA SPORTS' FIFA 17.
Fans voted for the Germany international ahead of Chelsea 's Eden Hazard, Manchester United 's Anthony Martial and Real Madrid 's James Rodriguez with 3.1 million votes registered.
It is another boost for the 27-year-old after being named Borussia Dortmund captain and the winger is delighted to scoop the cover for the popular game.
"I'm
honoured to join a very distinguished group of footballers to appear on
the cover of FIFA," said the 2012 German footballer of the year.
"Most of all I am humbled that the fans have chosen me," added the
former Borussia Monchengladbach star. "I will strive to make them proud
with my performance on the pitch.
Reus is wildly popular with
fans all over the globe who sent the German international messages of
support when injury ruled him out of Die Mannschaft's Euro 2016 campaign
and Nick Channon of EA SPORTS FIFA, is delighted with the result.
"Marco plays for a great club, is really fun to watch, and he is very
popular in FIFA Ultimate Team, so it makes a lot of sense that the fans
picked him," claimed the Senior Producer.
