The 7kg tumour had been growing inside the 45-year-old woman's stomach for up to five months.
After a series of misdiagnoses, the woman came close to death after doctors confirmed she was days away from her life being put in serious danger.
Her pain turned out to be a tumour growing in her stomach and weighing the same as a one-year-old baby.
Dr G Unnikrishnan, who led the team of surgeons which carried out the procedure, said: "The cyst must have been there for at least 5-6 months.
He also revealed that if the woman had delayed the surgery for a few more days, her life would have been in imminent danger.
