Father of Orlando mass killer Omar Mateen insisted his son wasn't gay

In an exclusive interview with the Mirror his dad Sediqque Mir Mateen categorically denied his son was gay describing him as “a normal family man”.
“There is no way he was homosexual, he was not brought up that way,” said the father. "I will not have it. He was not gay.
“If he was why kill those he loved. Only God can punish homosexuality. This is not an issue for humans to punish.”

He then launched into a bizarre rant blaming the club for a lack of security that allowed his son to kill.
He added: “If the club had had adequate security this would not have happened.
“The owners have to look at themselves as to why he was allowed to get in and carry out the act of terrorism.
“Clearly they were failings there. No one carrying guns like that should be allowed in. Why was he not stopped?”
Mateen’s father made a direct appeal to Prime Minister David Cameron demanding the UK “destroy the ISIS who stole my son”.
“Your Government need to do all they can to wipe out the group that poisoned my son. I will never forgive for the evil he has inflicted.”
