Chinese female flight attendant undergo combat training to be fit to restrain unruly passengers

Female stewards undergo military training including wrestling and hauling logs.
While smartly-dressed attendants make look ladylike and demure when they're serving on planes , those going through the Chengdu Civil Aviation Academy show that it takes true grit to get there.
Using intense military training sessions which include marching with logs, the women attending the Chengdu East Star Airlines College have to get through the gruelling tasks before they pass on to the next stage of their education.

Dressed in camouflage, they carry out a series of challenging combat drills.
The class of 20 women knee deep in muddy water look more like army recruits than stewards about to serve drinks and light refreshments in the cabin at 30,000 ft.

The muscle-building skills are intended to give staff the strength to subdue unruly passengers.

But while they look scary with their fight faces on as they train, they also look the part in their smart uniforms when they're dressed and ready to take to the skies.
