Suspended Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro is reportedly planning to take legal action following her row with manager Jose Mourinho.
Both Carneiro
and first-team physio Jon Fearn fell out with the Blues boss after
rushing on to treat Eden Hazard late on in the 2-2 draw with Swansea in
August.
The referee had beckoned them on to the pitch but their
treatment of the Belgian meant he had to leave the pitch for the final
few minutes of the game when Chelsea had already had a man sent off.
Mourinho labelled the duo naive and, while neither have been sacked, both Carneiro and Fearn have been replaced on the Chelsea bench and banned from the club's Cobham training ground.
FIFA's medical committee will review the case on Friday, with the outcome determining whether any legal action is likely to take place.
Should a return to her previous responsibilities prove impossible,
Carneiro is likely to initiate legal proceedings against Chelsea.
The
Independent report that an allegation of sexism would form part of the
case, with Carneiro claiming that Mourinho referred to her as his
"secretary" in the post-match press conference.
