Breakup- Womanizing is not reason behind Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's Split

After Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their split on Tuesday, June 30, many have speculated on the reasons behind their breakup. Jennifer Lopez is apparently out of the list since womanizing is not among the triggers for their divorce.

Multiple sources told TMZ about what happened between the two. Sources close to Jennifer said Ben's drinking and gambling had grown significantly in the last few years to the point "she couldn't take it anymore."

Similarly, sources close to Ben said that he liked to drink and loved to gamble. However, sources said that "partying" didn't have anything to do with their problems. "Ben did not go out and did not womanize," the sources added. They said that the couple had been in therapy for more than 2 years prior to their breakup.

Other sources pointed out his career as the main cause of their breakup. Some "well-placed insiders" told TMZ that the pair were getting divorce because Ben had become "hot property in Hollywood."

The insiders said, "Ben has had back-to-back film projects for several years, and spent much of his time out of town." That situation made Jennifer feel neglected. Though he was rarely at home, he had been a good father for his children. Jennifer's problem was with Ben as a husband.

Following their decision to end their 10-year marriage, Ben didn't find it easy. A source told PEOPLE, "He's devastated. Nobody intends to go down this path."

The source also mentioned about their effort to save their marriage which was candidly addressed by Ben during his 2013 Oscar acceptance speech. "They've been separated for 10 months but he was living at the house," the source said.

The source revealed that the pair were using mediator to ease the division of their assets. "These are things that they have consciously done because they want to make sure that this is as easy as they can make it on the kids," the source added.
