The '7th Heaven' Star actress 'Sarah Goldberg' Dies in her sleep

Sarah Goldberg, who starred on "7th Heaven" from 2002-2006, died of natural causes at the age of 40 on September 27, her family confirmed to Chicago Sun-Times. Her mother, Judy Goldberg, told the site that her daughter died peacefully in her sleep with her computer on her lap at her family's cabin in Wisconsin. "She went to sleep and didn't wake up," Judy said.

Sarah, who is also known by her stage name Sarah Danielle Madison, is best known for her role on "7th Heaven" as Sarah Glass Camden, a medical student and daughter of a rabbi played by Richard Lewis. Her character was the love interest of Barry Watson's character, the son of Christian pastor played by Stephen Collins.

Judy said of her daughter's work on the family drama, "She would walk down the street here, or places in Wisconsin, and people would come up to her and say, 'You played the daughter' of the rabbi. She wanted to go to medical school, and instead for three years she played a doctor on '7th Heaven'."

Sarah also appeared on other TV series, including "Without a Trace", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", "Judging Amy" and "90210". Meanwhile, her big screen credits included "My Best Friend's Wedding", "Training Day" and "Jurassic Park III".

Sarah is survived by her brother, Bradley.
