She has been criticised in the past for her fluctuating weight.
But on Monday, Lady Gaga had a few choice words for her critics.
'I'd rather be fat than shallow,' she wrote on Instagram after snaps of her in a swimsuit sparked a flurry of negative comments.
The Poker Face singer wore a flesh-coloured swimsuit as she posed alongside a swimming pool at her Dubai hotel.
'#bodyrevolution
Proud at any size, because the inside is what really counts,' Gaga
captioned one one of the pictures. 'Plus, it’s all how you pose! just
ask the supermodels!'

When
commenters wrote nasty comments about her weight, one fan jumped to her
defense, stating: 'To everyone saying Gaga is fat: I dare you to post a
picture of your belly and legs now.'
A grateful Gaga replied to the tweet, writing, 'I'd rather be fat than be shallow.'
She wrote
to another fan: 'all day long every day, so what if I got a belly
sometimes, sometimes I don't. There's people starving in the world.
#whocares'.
