A replica
of Kanye West’s mustard-stained shirt from his 2004 video for All Falls
Down - complete with a hand-embroidered copy of his mustard stain - is
being sold for $400.
Bandalu,
a brand that shills pop culture-inspired one-offs, has fixed up a pink
Ralph Lauren polo – a brand that sells pop culture-inspired one-offs
made from vintage wares – with splotches of golden yellow hand
embroidery.

The
embroidery, of course, is a more polished take on the mustard stain Mr
West acquired in the music video while chasing his co-star, Stacey Dash,
through an airport.
Bandalu
only created one of these bespoke shirts – a size medium – and is
selling it through Boston-based streetwear store, Bodega.

It is available for purchase through Bodega’s website, as well as in-store.
While the polo may seem gimmicky, it does paint Mr West’s earlier work as a slow-growing classic.
The
All Falls Down video represents one of Mr West’s first forays into
film, fashion, and stylistic innovation – and helped establish his
reputation as a visual pioneer.
In
the video Ms Dash, now a Fox News anchor and originally of Clueless
fame, plays Mr West’s spendthrift, freeloading girlfriend in the music
video.
While she runs through an airport in heels, a Marc Jacobs dress, and a Louis Vuitton bag, Mr West chases her.
A
child quickly (and rather randomly) sprays his pink Ralph Lauren polo
with a bottle of mustard – forcing Mr West to run into a bathroom to
rinse his shirt.
The
entire video was filmed from Mr West’s vantage point, letting viewers
see his mustard stain from the angle of his own eyes. It was filmed at
the Ontario International Airport in Canada.
All
Falls Down was the third single from Mr West’s debut album The College
Dropout, which has sold more than 3million copies since its release one
decade ago.
