Nominees for the upcoming Producers Guild Awards have been revealed, ahead of the much-awaited Academy Awards. "American Hustle" and "12 Years a Slave" are among the contenders for its Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures.
The other nominees are "Blue Jasmine, "Captain Phillips", "Dallas Buyers Club", "Gravity", "Her", "Nebraska", "Saving Mr. Banks", and "The Wolf of Wall Street". Meanwhile, among the snubs are "Lee Daniels' The Butler", "August: Osage County", and "Inside Llewyn Davis".

The PGAs has long become an indicator for Oscar selections. In the PGA
24-year history, its winners have gone on to take home Best Picture
title at the Oscars 17 times, including the last six consecutive years. The last time the two chose different winners was seven years ago, when the PGA favored "Little Miss Sunshine" and the Academy picked Martin Scorsese's "The Departed".
In the animated category, the PGAs nominates the producers of DreamWorks' "The Croods", Universal's "Despicable Me 2", 20th Century Fox's "Epic", Disney's "Frozen (2013)", and Pixar's "Monsters University".
Meanwhile, nominations for David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television go to the producers of "American Horror Story: Asylum", "Behind the Candelabra", "Killing Kennedy", "Phil Spector", and "Top of the Lake".
The winners will be announced January 19, three days before the Oscar
nods are unveiled. The victors will be feted at a gala taking place at
the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
