Frustrated Manchester United supporters took their anger out on Sir Alex Ferguson after Tuesday's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

After the match, angry fans yelled expletives at the former United manager as well as David Moyes, his handpicked successor, according to multiple reports.

Stadium stewards also had to be deployed to prevent supporters from tearing down a banner honouring Moyes as "The Chosen One."

Twenty million women and 10 million men suffer from an eating disorder at some time in their lives, according to the National Eating Disorders organization, but a new study suggests that a hormone released during kissing could help beat anorexia, giving hope to sufferers of a difficult-to-treat illness.

Research published by British and Korean scientists suggests that oxytocin, often referred to as the “love hormone” that plays an important role in intimacy, childbirth, and maternal bonding, reduces the focus anorexic patients have on triggers that cause the disease in the first place.

Given the success of larger trials, the research could save the lives of those with anorexia, for which there is no pharmaceutical treatment.

The Rock Fights Sea Serpent in 'Hercules' Trailer

The Rock Fights Sea Serpent in 'Hercules' Trailer

The first trailer for "Hercules" has landed online after previously getting shown at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson shows off his muscled physique as the titular legendary warrior as he is pitted against various beasts including a serpent-like creature with multiple heads.

"No matter how far you go, man cannot escape his fate," the trailer begins with a voiceover. "Who are you? Are you a murderer? Are you a mercenary who turns his back on the innocent?" The voice continues as footage of Hercules being chained to a stone wall is shown, "We believe in you. We have faith in you. Remember the deeds you have performed. The labors you have accomplished. Are you only the legend, or are you the truth behind the legend?"

The movie will follow Hercules' journey as a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. Directed by Brett Ratner, it is set to make its way out across the country on July 25. The cast also includes Rufus Sewell, Ian McShane, John Hurt, and Irina Shayk.

The Creepy Way Fathers Across the Country Are Controlling Their Daughters' Virginity

http://spectrogalaxy.blogspot.com/2014/03/the-creepy-way-fathers-across-country.html

"At this point, you're married to the Lord, and your father is your boyfriend."

So says Pastor Ron Johnson to his 12-year-old daughter Caroline, before placing a ring on her left finger. Johnson and his family are the subject of a recent Nightline Prime investigation of Purity Balls, a "full-fledged national phenomenon" that has reportedly spread across 48 states and 17 countries. Despite the thought that first popped into my head, these balls are not some ironic term for Ben Wa sex toys, but rather formal father-daughter dances during which young girls pledge to abstain from all sexual activity until marriage (this includes kissing and dating). They also symbolically entrust their fathers — the "high priest" of the home — with their maidenheads for safekeeping.

The special was filmed back in October 2013, when Nightline reporters headed to the 14th annual "Super Bowl of Purity" (only in America, folks) to document the chaste event. As the cameras rolled, 60 father-daughter couples arrived at the Grand Ballroom of Colorado's Broadmoor Hotel to "celebrate the beauty of [their] daughters and the glory of their fathers."

The temperature outside our window is negative where-the-fuuuh-is-spring, so we were totally ‘WHELMED by Beyoncé’s latest Instagram photo, obviously taken from the tropical waters of paradise.

We also spot Blue Ivy’s adorbz little hands and toes peeking out into the left side of the frame, and we’re wondering what her mom is trying to tell her with both index fingers raised towards the sky.

The Pope Has Taken a Big Step Towards Addressing Sexual Abuse in the Church

The Pope Has Taken a Big Step Towards Addressing Sexual Abuse in the Church

On Saturday, Pope Francis announced the members of a commission "for safeguarding minors" that will address the Catholic Church's dark history with sexual abuse.

And judging from the people on the commission, it looks like the pope is taking it seriously. The eight members include a survivor of sexual abuse, Marie Collins, who was assaulted at 13 years old by a hospital chaplain. The Irish campaigner has been active in fighting for the protection of children in the church.

Also on the panel is French child psychiatrist Catherine Bonnet, who has been published widely on the topic of sexual abuse of children.

According to Vatican spokesman, Rev Federico Lombardi, the commission will work towards "promoting youth protection" through "taking criminal action against offenders, educating people about the exploitation of children, developing best practices to better screen priests, and defining the civil and clerical duties within the Church," according to the Irish Times.

David Moyes: Wayne Rooney already a legend

David Moyes: Wayne Rooney already a legend

Manchester United manager David Moyes believes star striker Wayne Rooney is already a legend at the club.

Rooney, who has signed a five-and-a-half year contract to stay at Old Trafford until 2019, is likely to end his career as United’s record goalscorer. And the Englishman, who is chasing down Sir Bobby Charlton’s total of 249 goals, moved into third place in the standings with a brace at West Ham on Saturday that took him to 212.

Moyes believes Rooney will be pivotal in Tuesday’s Manchester derby, when United will be without the injured Robin van Persie, who scored a hat-trick against Olympiakos last week.

“If you are the third top scorer of a club like Manchester United you already are a legend," he said. "I think it gives him a chance to go on and he has a real good chance... as long as he doesn't pick up any serious injuries he has a real good chance of breaking Denis Law's and Sir Bobby Charlton's [records] and that would be some feat.

A Simple Explanation of How Flight 370 Crashed in the South Indian Ocean

A Simple Explanation of How Flight 370 Crashed in the South Indian Ocean

Nearly three weeks into the search for MH370, we may finally have an explanation for what happened to the missing plane — although it's not the ending we were hoping for.

The authorities will not speculate on the cause of MH370's loss, although recent reports suggest there may have been a "catastrophic failure" from lack of pressurization or an electrical failure. If there were a sudden mechanical problem, the plane's direction suggests that the pilots were following protocol and attempting to make an emergency landing at the nearest airport.

On Monday morning, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak announced at a press conference that the airplane "flew along the southern corridor and that its last position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean west of Perth. This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites. It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that according to this new data, flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean."

The families of the plane's passengers and crew were notified prior to the press conference. Authorities met the families in person and notified those they couldn't meet with this text message, which said it was "beyond any reasonable doubt that MH370 has been lost and that none of those on board survived. ... we must now accept all evidence suggests the plane went down in the Southern Indian Ocean."

Following Walker's tragic accident last November, O'Conner will be retired in this seventh installment

WHAT HAPPENED?

There was a bizarre case of mistaken identity as Arsenal embarrassingly capitulated in Arsene Wenger's 1,000th match in charge in a 6-0 loss to Barclays Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Wenger was last month called "a specialist in failure" by Jose Mourinho and remains without a victory in 11 attempts against his nemesis after a spectacular implosion and an horrendous mistake by referee Andre Marriner.
The Frenchman watched on helplessly after two goals from Samuel Eto'o and Andre Schurrle gave Chelsea a handsome lead inside the first 10 minutes before Marriner sent off Kieran Gibbs for a handball committed by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Eden Hazard's shot was handled in the area and, despite Oxlade-Chamberlain appearing to approach the official to admit wrongdoing, Gibbs was shown a red card in a decision which continues the debate over the use of television replays.

Bayern Munich Midfielder 'Philipp Lahm' relishing Man United tie

Bayern Munich Midfielder 'Philipp Lahm' relishing Man United tie

Philipp Lahm has expressed his delight at the Champions League quarterfinal draw after Bayern Munich were pitted against Manchester United.

The reigning champions will meet United in the last eight of the competition, with the first leg to played on April 1 at Old Trafford, before the return game takes place at the Allianz Arena on April 9.

And while Lahm is pleased to come up against David Moyes’ struggling side, who are seventh in the Premier League, the Bayern captain is refusing to get complacent.

“That’s a great draw. A fantastic stadium, super atmosphere, and we had many great clashes with them in the past. I am looking forward to it,” he told the club's official website.

“We shouldn’t be misled by their Premier League position. They are a great team, they have got outstanding individual quality. We must give it our all in both legs, and then we’ll have the chance to go through to the semis.”

Does the Big Bang breakthrough offer proof of God?

Does the Big Bang breakthrough offer proof of God?

The remarkable discovery, announced this week, of ripples in the space-time fabric of the universe rocked the world of science and the world of religion.

Touted as evidence for inflation (a faster-than-the-speed-of-light expansion of our universe), the new discovery of traces of gravity waves affirms scientific concepts in the fields of cosmology, general relativity, and particle physics.

The new discovery also has significant implications for the Judeo-Christian worldview, offering strong support for biblical beliefs.

Here's how.

The prevalent theory of cosmic origins prior to the Big Bang theory was the “Steady State,” which argued that the universe has always existed, without a beginning that necessitated a cause.

However, this new evidence strongly suggests that there was a beginning to our universe.

If the universe did indeed have a beginning, by the simple logic of cause and effect, there had to be an agent – separate and apart from the effect – that caused it.

That sounds a lot like Genesis 1:1 to me: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth.”

So this latest discovery is good news for us believers, as it adds scientific support to the idea that the universe was caused – or created – by something or someone outside it and not dependent on it.

Drogba backs Chelsea for Premier League title

Drogba backs Chelsea for Premier League title
Didier Drogba believes Jose Mourinho can lead Chelsea to their first Premier League title for four years this season.

Drogba, 36, played under the Portuguese during his first spell in charge of the Blues, which saw him land two league titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups in three full campaigns.

Chelsea are currently sitting first in the table, although Mourinho has consistently played down their chances of remaining there for the rest of the season.

However, Drogba, who faced his former side with Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday, is confident the Blues have what it takes to come out on top.

"Chelsea have a big chance this year, which is good for the club because to go three or four years without winning it is too much for a big club like them,” he told the Daily Star. "It will be great if they can go on and do it. I would be very happy.

UEFA CAMPIONS LEAGUE LAST-8 DRAW (2013/2014 )

UEFA CAMPIONS LEAGUE LAST-8 DRAW (2013/2014 )

European champions Bayern Munich will play Manchester United in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Bayern dispatched Arsenal in the last-16 and will now seek to beat United, whom they defeated at this stage of the competition en route to the final in the 2009-10 season. United, victors against Bayern in the 1999 final, will seek to spring an upset to keep alive any hope of major silverware in David Moyes’ debut season.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, will look to make amends for their defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the semifinals of last year’s competition as they attempt to maintain their charge towards a long-awaited 10th European crown.

Wenger proud of Arsenal achievements

Wenger proud of Arsenal achievements

Arsene Wenger takes charge of Arsenal for the 1,000th time in the Premier League match against Chelsea on Saturday.

The 64-year-old Frenchman -- who was appointed as Gunners boss on September 30, 1996 -- has spoken of his pride at reaching the landmark and insists he still has the drive and hunger to bring success back to the North London club.

Although the Gunners are approaching the completion of a ninth year without any silverware, Wenger believes the stepping stones are now in place for a return to the glory days.

“It is a big honour to stay such a long time in such a big club, and [reaching 1,000 games], we cannot predict," he said. “We are in a job where you go for the next game and try to do well in that next game. Then step by step, sometimes you get to 1,000.

Rihanna’s Trip To The Dentist Is A Firm Reminder That Oral Health Is Key

You’re probably guessing that this is a photo of Rihanna looking absolutely FEROSH on her way out from some Fashion Week party hosted by her Oscar-winning BFF, Lupita Nyong’o, or some other event that we’d never be invited to, right?

WRONG. The “Can’t Remember To Forget You” singer is actually just leaving her dentist’s office in New York City.

Hmmm, now why would the flawless 26-year-old need to dress so poshly for her appointment? Maybe she was getting a new diamond grill fitted and wanted her attire to be equally blinged out?
