The pictures are believed to show the 25-year-old Afghanistan veteran after he was blown up by a bomb robot following a standoff with police.
Dallas Police Department have not confirmed whether the gruesome photographs are genuine.
The images were leaked online anonymously as it emerged that Johnson left a chilling message written in his own blood as he lay injured in a car park stairwell.
The killer was involved in a two-hour standoff with police after shooting dead five officers and injuring seven more.

Two letters are believed to have stood out - 'RB'.
According to the Telegraph, some believe the letters stand for "Righteous Blood", referencing Matthew 23:35 which says: "Upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth".
Some reportedly believed Johnson was trying to write 'RBG' referring to the 'Red Blue and Green flag, a symbol of black power.
Johnson shot dead five officers and injured a total of nine at a protest in Dallas on Thursday against the fatal shootings of two black men by police officers elsewhere in the US.
The original shootings - in Minnesota and Louisiana, and captured on mobile phone footage - have sparked a wave of protests by the Black Lives Matter movement and caused racial unrest across the US.
Once cornered in a parking garage following the Dallas shootings, Johnson told police negotiators he 'wanted to kill more whites'.
