Irina Shayk has confirmed that she has split up with Real Madrid star
Cristiano Ronaldo after a five-year romance, but she denied claims that
a family feud was behind it.
The Victoria's Secret model was
alleged to have been dumped by the Ballon D'or winner after she refused
to attend a surprise party for his mother's birthday, but a rep for
Irina has denied these reports.
While Cristiano remains tight-lipped, Irina's camp have confirmed the
split and a rep for the beauty said that she has been close with his
family throughout the course of their relationship".
They also
added that "any negative rumors with regards to Irina and the Ronaldo
family are completely false and have not been a factor in the cause of
the spilt."
Irina, 29, sparked speculation after she stopped following the Real Madrid star on Twitter.
She also chose not to attend the Fifa Ballon d’Or ceremony in Zurich on Monday, when he was named the best player in the world.
Her boyfriend of nearly five years was joined on stage by his four-year-old son Cristiano Jr and Dolores.
He thanked his family, teammates and supporters but made no mention of Irina.
A source said: “Dolores wanted someone who would assume the role of mum for Cristiano Jr.
“That was not a priority for Irina.”
